An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join a market leading filtration, compressed air, and dryer manufacturer. Duties & Responsibilities:

The primary focus of the role is to help identify new OEM business opportunities for the organisation and will require close collaboration with the Sales, Marketing and Product Management teams. Once feasible again, it is anticipated the role will require a large degree of international travel.

  • To identify new markets, partnerships, routes to market, or new product or service offerings to better meet the needs of existing markets.
  • Work with the UK Product Manager and Marketing teams, help to identify and target new, strategically important, high-value OEM customers in the target market segments and applications
  • Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure that requirements are met
  • Maintain relationships with current clients
  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up to date on corporate competitors
  • Work closely with the UK Product Manager and Marketing teams to provide reports as necessary to the senior management team, to include updates on sales activity, competitor activity & general market intelligence
  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills
  • Adhere to health and safety policy and other requirements relating to care of equipment

Candidate Profile:

  • 2- 5 years proven track record in a B2B sales / product management / marketing role
  • Experience in the Compressed Air/Gas or Industrial Filtration sectors is essential other business areas would be advantageous
  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strategic and Customer-centric mind-set
  • Excellent organisational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
  • Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely
  • Advanced reporting writing skills with evidence of conclusive research and action plans
  • Technical competence required to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on client requirements
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with internal / external customers
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages would be advantageous

 

Educational requirements:

  • High calibre, degree (or equivalent) qualified. Ideally in a business, marketing, engineering discipline
  • IT Fluency – comfortable with digital technology, e.g., MS Project, PowerPoint, CRM, digital communication platforms and statistical analysis software
