8:30-17:00 Monday – Thursday and 8:30-16:00 on Friday.
£32,600 to £39,000

A leading filtration manufacturer are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Surrey.

You will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance activities across all areas of the business with the aim of maximising machine availability & optimising cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

The position will report directly into the Managing Director

  • Responsible for planned maintenance checks on manufacturing plant and machinery as required by Amazon’s maintenance regime, to include cleaning; lubricating; checking and replacing parts.
  • Provide feedback of information and problems from planned maintenance to help update maintenance schedules.
  • Manage planned maintenance schedules, ensure they are adhered to and keep up to date records of planned maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for machine breakdown maintenance, repair & problem-solving activities
  • Regular review and analysis of breakdown root causes & proposed remedial actions to address repeating issues
  • Maintain and control the use of spare parts, booking out of stock, replenishment, and identification of parts. Management of the creation of new stocked spare parts
  • Lead continuous improvement activities on machinery & production / contribute to continuous improvement in other areas
  • Ensure all maintenance work is performed with good engineering practice and in accordance with the PM programme.
  • Undertake building maintenance tasks as required
  • Monitor and report any misuse of equipment to the appropriate person.
  • Adherence to health and safety requirements, contamination control rules and QC standards as required
  • Provide support to the Manufacturing Engineers as and when required.
  • Other duties as required by the Line Manager

Experience:

  • Engineering Qualification (degree or apprenticeship level)
  • Solid engineering background – able to read engineering drawings, basic mechanical principles, control, design principles.
  • Track record of experience of electro-mechanical maintenance
  • Computer literacy
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Logical, lateral & analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Project and time management
  • Willingness to learn & demonstrable aptitude for learning
  • Mechanical aptitude; practical and hands on

Desirable:

  • Pneumatic systems knowledge
  • Electrical & control system competence and experience
