We’re keen to talk with experienced sales professionals about an exciting ‘Sales Engineer’ opportunity. You’ll be working for a truly global company that have a presence in more than 100 countries, helping their customers improve their operations daily by driving and evolving automation in their business with innovative pneumatic conveying solutions.

£45,000 basic salary plus 33% OTE commission | company vehicle | uncapped commission paid quarterly 

As a Sales Engineer covering the North East, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and growing your customer base by increasing sales and helping to further establish the company’s reputation as industry innovators. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual who is target driven and results orientated.

To excel in this Sales Engineer role, you’ll ideally need a background in pneumatics, material handling or conveying, so that you have the technical skills to identify specific consumer characteristics and be able to competently recommend and sell the right products.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Manage and maximise sales, acting as the main point of contact for customers and prospects within your assigned territory
  • Identify local business opportunities and challenges
  • Develop and implement a territory business plan in support of the company’s goals and objectives
  • Manage sales channels for all industrial vacuum products
  • Conduct frequent customer visits either direct or jointly with channel partners
  • Document and manage sales activity including customer visits, opportunities, and account information through active use of Salesforce CRM
  • Conduct regular reviews with your distributor and reps
  • Present company products and services to prospective customers
  • Provide technical support for automation and vacuum conveying product lines
  • Collaborate with other company departments to cultivate and manage sales activity within a region, to meet individual and group sales quotas
  • Participate in annual distributor/rep meetings, events, and activities
  • Assist when needed with trade show preparation and coverage
  • Report on regional sales results
  • Identify customer needs and recommend product solutions

Skills & Experience 

  • 3+ years’ experience within technical sales
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Resilient with a proven track record in sales
  • Familiarity or strong knowledge in our industry markets is a plus
  • Diploma in sales techniques is also advantageous
