A market leading hydraulic and fluid engineering specialist are looking for a Sales Engineer to join their successful team. The purpose of this position is to penetrate the marketplace and grow the business to by promoting the business and its products professionally.
The successful candidate will have experience selling hydraulic products and sales experience in the Southwest. We are looking for a highly motivated individual, committed to their personal development and confident to drive forward sales.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step up in their career. You will be handed high levels of responsibility and tasked with supporting the customer and sales desk with product and area knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and control sales meetings at either OEM, User of Distributor level.
- Identify personal and distributors training needs and conduct such training sessions as necessary with your distributors to achieve maximum benefits.
- Provide your customers with sufficient information to enable them to select and specify company product.
- Develop customer contacts through promoting the specification, application, and sale of products
- Work closely with your Sales Manager, engineering, product services, specialists and others to handle customer’s enquiries and problems.
- Work closely with sales co-ordinators on order status, account status etc. as all customer records should be up to date, call plans and quotation sheet updates are submitted weekly.
- Liaise with and inform both Finance Manager and Stock Controller on an ongoing basis.
- Obtain and formulate customer information into plans, proposals, reports etc.
- Participate in the analysis and development of market information to marketing and product plans.
- Communicate with OEM buyers to ensure that our pricing is acceptable
- You should, always be aware of your area performance against target.
- Keep your company vehicle and company property clean, tidy, and available for inspection at any time.
- Management may, require you to carry out tasks in addition to your normal duties, provided these tasks are within your capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- HNC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification and/or experience
- Experience of selling hydraulic products
- Ability to understand hydraulic circuit diagrams
- Experience of dealing with end-users
- IT literate (i.e. MS Word & Excel) with excellent communication skills
