Our client, a successful engineering company operating on a global scale are looking for a Territory Manager, to join their team.

The successful candidate will be direct responsibility for developing strategic relationships and sales growth at the distribution partners within the UK & Ireland.

This opportunity is great for a self-motivated salesperson, looking to step up and cover a broader field or experience as a territory manager previously.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales growth from all distribution partners within the defined technology boundaries, but also at any new account potentials that may be discovered.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans, that deliver year-on-year growth to distribution expectations.
  • Help execute local and divisional marketing plans and activities to enable sales growth targets to be met, including product launches, promotions, advertising and other organised marketing activities
  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
  • Grow a pipeline that will help contribute to the sales growth expectations
  • Clearly communicate and discuss customer requirements and develop a network of key customer relationships at each account
  • Respond to and follow up on sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
  • Plan a structured business meeting rota to ensure all aspects of each account are visited regularly
  • Work with key accounts to incorporate and implement the corporation’s retail strategy where appropriate
  • Work closely with the wider sales teams who may have joint responsibility for some strategic product categories

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • An experienced account/salesperson who has a strong track record of success – where experience within the fluid power industry would be a key advantage
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, disciplined, self-starter, with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within a matrix organisation and cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer relationship and presentation skills are essential with an ability to influence senior-level contacts (both internal and external)
  • Background in Engineering, Business Studies and or Marketing would be beneficial as would a good understanding of Fluid Power or equivalent markets.
  • Excellent PC skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
