We’re keenly searching for an experienced Technical Sales professional, to join a well established, global leader in high pressure hydraulic tools and solutions, with more than 100 years of heritage.

As the Area Sales Manager for your region, you’ll develop new customers through excellent communications and sales skills to ensure the sales division meets its growth targets. This is a home based role with regular in person visits required throughout your region.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Develop and build professional relationships with end-users and new sales opportunities in your area
  • Act as the main point of contact for Distributors, developing an in-depth understanding of their sales organisation
  • Initiate, develop and build professional relationships with all key decision makers within the Distribution channel
  • Develop plans with all Distributors on an annual basis, in order to achieve sustainable growth
  • Prospect for potential new clients to create profitable incremental turnover
  • Prepare and manage professional quotations, actively following up to successfully convert into orders
  • Liaise between Application Engineer and Specialists to help solve their unique problems using standard and custom designed products
  • Cooperate with local and regional colleagues to develop and implement global, regional and local strategies to exceed annual financial targets
  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations
  • Report on all commercial activities within the territory; complaints, trends, competitive actions and any recommendations to improve sales and productivity

Skills & Experience 

  • Relevant Technical (BSc) or Commercial Degree
  • Technical affinity and understanding of industrial markets
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience with well-developed presentation and commercial negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate well across all business levels, internally and externally
  • Energetic and proactive initiator; must present a professional and articulate image
  • Ability to work to deadlines and possess excellent organisational skills
  • Work well with minimal supervision; self-discipline and motivation
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), knowledge of CRM systems is beneficial
