If you’re a sales professional with the ability to generate new business, we’d like to discuss a fantastic Business Development Executive opportunity, with a major distributor of fluid connectors in the rail industry that supply clients in over 50 countries worldwide.

Working within the Hydraulics and Pneumatics Divisions, your purpose as a Business Development Executive is to provide outstanding levels of service, thereby maximising the sales potential of new and prospective customers. The role will involve all aspects of internal sales and business development, including new business generation from a series of cold calls to new, none spending, and prospect accounts. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Achieve your target levels of quote conversion, sales turnover and most importantly, total gross margin contribution
  • Proactively contact low or non-spending accounts to rejuvenate business, which will build up a customer base to manage and ensure continued spend
  • Follow up all quotations immediately to ensure they’ve been received and actively progressed in order to convert to sales orders
  • Enter all sales orders onto company system in a timely manner to enable MRP system to generate required purchase/works orders
  • Regularly contact dormant and low spending accounts to establish reasons for reduced or non-spend
  • Make a minimum of 10 cold calls per day to new, none spending or prospect accounts

  • Ability to work well under pressure
