As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for increasing sales of new products and Compressor aftermarket products to both existing and new distributors/end users in the UK. For the right person, this is a very high earning sales role, with the opportunity to boost your OTE by 50%.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the Development and implementation of a sales strategy for your region to include;
    – Identify and develop sales via Distribution channels and OEM customers
    – Management of Key/Target Distributor and OEM accounts
    – Sales presentation and technical support of new and existing products
  • Ensure sales revenue & volume targets are met or exceeded
  • Support distributors by visiting their end user customers to:
    – conduct surveys/data logging of existing equipment and compressed air systems
    – Identify and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and overall system design
    – Prepare and present sales offers, data logging reports, and attending out briefing meetings
  • Attend regular review meetings with line manager and sales team to ensure that company objectives are met, contributing ideas and strategic thinking to develop the company’s strategic direction
  • Provide accurate sales reports and forecasts for UK Management as necessary
  • Ensure company database is maintained, update existing customer information, add all new prospects, sales offers, and reports as necessary
  • Develop and maintain first-hand knowledge of the business profile of key accounts, competitors, and distributors within the territory, maintaining contact with “key” personnel
  • Use Market Intelligence to define and recommend appropriate market opportunities by product line, market segment and geographical area

Skills & Experience 

  • Proven track record in sales of compressed air equipment (preferably 5 years plus)
  • Demonstrable ability to manage and grow key accounts in an industrial distribution management business
  • Experience of data logging Compressed Air systems; providing reports and attending out briefing meetings
  • High level of PC literacy and good analytical skills
  • Capable of producing accurate sales forecasts and territory reports
  • Strong people skills, with an ability to influence at all levels
  • Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously and as part of the UK team (operations, service and finance)
  • PC literate, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint with good analytical skills
  • High achiever with demonstrable qualities of; consistency, diplomacy, discretion, risk-taking and integrity
  • Experience working for a product manufacturer (directly or in a subsidiary of an international company) is considered advantageous
  • Willingness to travel within UK (infrequent European meetings will also be required)
  • Full UK Driving License
