We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pump Service Business Development Manager to join a global market leader in integrated water cycle management solutions.

National role offering remote working, comprehensive salary and bonus package including a company car 

As the Pump Service Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for the company’s pump service division, expanding their customer base and generating revenue through strategic sales, marketing activities, account development, customer visits and referrals.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in service management, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to lead and motivate teams. You can be based anywhere in the UK, however living close to the Midlands would be ideal for the occasional travel required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for the company’s pump service division, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships, new products, and services
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and new market opportunities
  • Analyse sales data to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and sales activities
  • Create and maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports
  • Develop pricing strategies to ensure profitability and competitiveness in the market
  • Offers exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by upselling products and services
  • Take responsibility and handle any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to stay up-to-date with market trends and new product developments
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of business objectives and goals
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the service department adheres to all regulations

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or business development in the pump service industry
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the pump industry, and excellent technical skills on centrifugal pumps (clean and waste)
  • Excellent customer-facing skills with a focus on providing exceptional service
  • Strategic and creative mindset with the ability to propose innovative solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with sales forecasting, pricing strategies, and market analysis
  • Ability to travel as needed
