As a Sales Manager for Fluid Power Industrial UK&I, you’ll be managing a team of 5 Account Managers and will be responsible for growing and developing sales via major OEM’s in the UK and Ireland (annual turnover ≈£22 million). Whilst your sales focus is primarily Fluid Power technologies (MSG and FCG) you’ll also look to promote and maximise sales for other company groups within allocated markets and customers where appropriate.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the Fluid Power Industrial sales team ensuring growth targets are achieved with existing customers through strong leadership
  • Set SMART targets and goals for individual team members that will deliver breakthrough sales growth
  • Develop, implement and monitor individual team member growth plans, ensuring the right training and tools are in place
  • Major focus on developing new growth accounts within new and evolving technologies
  • Coach individual team members in the effective use of key sales tools and processes to maximise sales opportunities
  • Work closely with the Fluid Power Leader and Business Development team to clearly define a five year growth strategy
  • Ensure key projects are accurately documented via company CRM system and submitted in a timely manner
  • Keep the Fluid Power Leader regularly updated regarding issues that may directly affect sales performance

Skills & Experience 

  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate people
  • Demonstrable technical sales & people management experience
  • Proven experience in working with and developing large OEMs
  • Ability to think strategically whilst managing practical day to day operating issues
  • Ability to relate to and positively influence senior level customer contacts & senior company personnel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative whilst remaining a collaborative team player
  • IT skills – Microsoft Office software. Digital interface tools eg.Teams and Zoom
  • Flexibility in working hours and willing to stay away from home as the demands of the role dictates
  • Degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential
