We’re searching for a sales professional well versed in order processing and handling customer queries, regarding an opportunity to join an internationally established manufacturer.

You’ll be joining the team as the Industrial & Offshore Sales Office Manager, responsible for managing a small team of internal sales co-ordinators to ensure all sales enquiries and orders are dealt with professionally, efficiently and in accordance with Company procedures.

The Sales Office Manager will also be directly responsible for supporting customers with complex needs or problems escalated by the sales co-ordinators, so it is highly desirable that you’re experienced in resolving complex customer queries.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Manage, support, and develop the industrial and offshore sales co-ordinator teams
  • Ensure all telephone and written queries are responded to promptly in accordance with any KPIs
  • Ensure sales orders are processed efficiently into the system in accordance with Quality Manual procedures
  • Ensure stock is allocated to each order without duplication
  • Liaise and collaborate across departments, resolving any problems to ensure delivery deadlines are met
  • Liaise with specialists and sales engineers, across the UK and DE, on product specification and availability
  • Produce weekly reports summarising sales and quotation
  • Provide training to support and develop new team members, imparting your product and job knowledge
  • Ensure good time keeping from the internal sales co-ordination team, managing time off and holidays
  • Ensure customers are fairly proportioned so co-ordinators have sufficient time to handle all requests
  • Take responsibility for the correct retention and disposal of documents in your described area
  • Handle difficult or complex enquiries/customers escalated by the co-ordinators
  • Conduct performance reviews and feedback to individual team members
  • Implement departmental objectives agreed with the Industrial Sales Manager
  • Review commercial sales agreements in association with the Industrial Sales Manager to ensure terms and conditions are acceptable to the Company

Skills & Experience 

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in a sales office environment
  • Experience dealing with customers via phone, e-mail and from time to time, in person
  • Experience of order processing
  • SAP experience of using
  • E-commerce experience
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • GCSE Level English and Maths (or equivalent experience)
  • IT literate – MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (MS Office) & SAP
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Mediation skills and ability to resolve conflict

Desirable

  • Customer service or telephone sales training
  • Experience of supervising others
  • Experience of working within a technical environment and with quality standards
  • Negotiation skills
  • Hydraulic & technical awareness/aptitude
