Our Principal Consultant Robin Thomas has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Service Supervisor with a strong technical background, to join an independent valve specialist that partners with the industry’s leading manufacturers.

As a Service Supervisor, you’ll be working with a team of highly trained and talented engineers and technicians, and will act as a leader and focal point for the Engineers while in the workshop and on site (onshore and offshore) for all service work and related activities.

Ultimately, the Service Supervisor is responsible for the effective and efficient running of all non-PSV related service work scopes within the company, ensuring work scopes progress and flow within the required time scales

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Organisation of Service Department
    – Responsibility for ensuring work orders in all sections of the Service Planner on the company system are regularly updated with the progress or latest update
    – Setting out of priority list within the Booked in Section of the Service Planner for the Engineers to follow
    – Ensuring that priority scopes are completed in the required time scales
    – Carrying out booking in, verifications and quote building for allocated work scopes
    – Discussing requirements with Contracts Engineers, Sales Team and Clients when necessary
  • Leading of Service Team
    – Daily interaction with team, ensure focus is directed in the right areas
    – Carrying out quarterly one to ones with team, and annual appraisals
    – Reviewing and ensuring that service procedures are being followed
    – Discussion with Engineers / Technicians when issues are highlighted on strip reports or feedback from production in order to upskill
  • Onshore Focal Point for site work both onshore and offshore scopes
    – Receiving information from Contracts Engineers, Sales Team or Client to fully understand offshore requirements
    – Production of site work packs, ensuring all relevant information is available
    – Mobilisation meeting with the Engineer / Technician going on site to ensure full understanding of requirements and expectations
    – Review of work packs upon return, creation of reports for issuing to clients within 1 week of return
  • Communication
    – Weekly Operations meeting with Operations Director discuss on going work scopes, priorities, and support required
    – Clear communication with Operations Coordinator and Technical Manager to ensure smooth transition throughout the process of handing over scopes to Production Team
    – Clear communication with Technical Manager when support is required on Problematic or Complex Scopes
    – Communication with the Contracts and Sales teams when required

  • IT – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Filing System Product knowledge

Desirable

  • Strong knowledge and skill base on all valve/actuator types
  • Project planning skills
  • Project leader experience – (Site Jobs)
  • FLT Licence
  • Overhead crane certificates
  • Valve specific training certificates
