Working as a Technical and Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll be joining a firm that employs more than 400 people globally, who each work to support developing nations to improve quality and reduce costs in the handling of bulk cargoes in the maritime sector.

As the company’s Technical and Maintenance Coordinator, you’ll support the worldwide bagging (WWB) technicians in the field with timely, technical, and troubleshooting advice. You’ll also take responsibility for accurate record keeping of maintenance activities and spares usage to help identify improvements and ensure continued high performance across all our locations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Working with the Group Engineering and Operations (GEO) team to implement routine maintenance procedures for WWB assets
    – Record keeping of maintenance activities and issues within company systems
    – Auditing the procedures and feeding back information from technicians to GEO to ensure processes remain relevant and effective
  • Working with field technicians to identify spare parts requirements
    – Ensuring spares orders are in line with budget and location needs, keeping an eye on location stock levels and upcoming projects
    – Processing spares requests within the ERP system
  • Managing goods in and out of the warehouse
    – Receiving, verifying, and receipting goods in
    – Consolidating and packing outward shipments
    – Creating and administering all shipment documentation
    – Balancing freight costs against budget and time constraints, and booking appropriate transport (Air/Sea/Road freight)
  • Liaising with Commercial and Operational members of the team to help plan deliveries and activities
    – Monitoring vessel arrivals to ensure pre ops maintenance is completed and spares are delivered on time
    – Providing recommendations on technicians to send based on skillsets and outstanding works required on assets
    – Alerting ops and commercial to any issues that may adversely affect operations
  • Assisting field technicians with trouble shooting problems with equipment, updating and amending troubleshooting documentation where necessary
  • Assisting WWB stock controller with stock takes, transfers, and job card processing where necessary, including any necessary administration

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical, mechanical, electrical qualifications and/or experience
  • Strong administration and data processing skills
  • Experience remotely supporting engineers/technicians across multiple sites
  • Flexible approach to working, including providing some urgent out of hours support if required
  • Must be prepared for potential travel to WWB locations (mainly Africa) for training/insight/audit/support purposes
  • Fully competent with I.T. including Microsoft applications
  • Strong and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organised with an attention to detail
  • A self-motivated problem solver
  • Comfortable both supporting in a technical setting as well as producing and administering supporting documentation and systems (40% technical / 60% administration)
  • Exemplary time-management skills and ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to build relationships
